Solana Beach: 2 Firms Team Up on Solar Project

Solana Beach-based Open Energy Corp. will partner with Clean Power Systems Inc., a San Diego company, to offer Open Energy's solar roofing tiles to Clean Power customers across Southern California.

Clean Power is a solar electricity system provider. Open Energy is a renewable energy company that created SolarSave Roofing Tiles and Membranes, which generate electricity from the sun, according to its Web site.

The tiles can be used for new construction or re-roofing projects. Open Energy also announced this month that it will provide solar tiles for the McCullough-Ames Development, a 29-home development in San Diego County, according to the company s Web site.
